Linda Kyakuwa was born on April 24, 2000. Six years later her mother, Royisa Namusisi died in childbirth on the September 11, 2006. After the death of his wife, Linda's Muslim father, Ali Lubowa remarried a wizard and deserted his daughter. Linda's original name was Manono which is an Islamic name meaning "married to her ancestors". Linda gave her life to Jesus and needed to have a name of honor rather than a name connected to ancestral spirits. One of our staff members felt that she should be named after Mama Linda and chose the name for her. Linda means "beautiful". Her sister, Yasin Ssenono was taken to live with relatives in the north. She has five brothers, two of whom are: Yasin Mwanje and Allamanthan Ssenabulya. They were only 12 and 14 years old living alone in a small house in Sseya with no supervision. Although the brothers refused to come under our care, we praise the Lord that He rescued Linda out of that terrible situation. Linda lived at Hope Children's Home for many years but has now moved to the Lugazi area where she will pursue her studies and receive worship training. Linda loves to worship her Jesus.
