Lydia Nalwoga was born on December 15, 2008 in the village of Bunakijja, Uganda. She belongs to the Buganda tribe. She was living a very simple but happy life near Lake Victoria with both of her parents. One day while her mother, Jane Nambalirwa was traveling on a boda (motorcycle taxi) she was struck by an oncoming truck. She was unconscious for two weeks in the hospital before her death. Lydia attended her mother's burial on April 4, 2014. Lydia, her 3 year old sister (Beatrice Nansuga), and their father, Samuel Byekweso were working on their grief and trying to be a family without a mother. The tragic night of August 23, 2014, Lydia's father died in his sleep of an unknown cause. Lydia attended the burial of their father just four months after watching their mother be lowered into the ground. The grandmother, Beatrice Buswalwa brought the two girls into her small home which was already overcrowded with ten children and grandchildren. Aloysious Kayongo, the girl's uncle and a Prepare the Way Ministry board member contacted us with this urgent need. Lydia and Beatrice were moved into Hope Children's Home just three days after their father's burial. Lydia is quiet and withdrawn. She has some understanding of what is happening. She told us that they buried her mother, and they buried her father too. Lydia needs prayer for the healing of her little heart. She is in Primary 1 in school. Please sponsor Lydia. She needs to be loved and prayed for by a mom and dad who will just be hers.
